Elizabeth Reaser has a career as an American film, television and stage actress. Her most famous roles include The Twilight Saga (film), Greys Anatomy (series) as well as True Detective. Jessica was reading the script for the scene she realized it was necessary to learn weaponry. Therefore, she made her first practice lesson. Jonathan Glassner says that her stunt crew were astonished by her performance in the first lesson. The Outpost was her first big part in the US since her prior films were filmed located in Australia. The role capitalizes on Jessica's passion for action by utilizing her mixed disciplines of horse riding, martial arts, weapon skills, and athletic abilities enabling her to also do her tricks and truly embody the strong female character.
