Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet neighborhood that is located in the West Island, which is part of Montreal's island. This part of the island known as West Island can be confusing to those unfamiliar to its significance. Many people believe that it's an island to the to the west of Montreal However, the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities that are Lachine as well as West. Amanda Brugel grew up on the island and is commonly referred to as her birthplace. However, she only resided there for a very short period of time. Brugel lived in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. She initially wanted to pursue a career as an actress but after a sudden growth spurt her partners were no longer able to dance along with her. In an article from the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. Once I was bigger than my male counterpart, I stopped. The Brugel is one of the former dancers that turned to acting. Her teacher from high school was the one who pushed her to take the next step. The teacher recommended that she audition for an annual school production. She auditioned and was cast in the role of Anne of Green Gables. It led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and earned an Associate in Fine Arts degree in 2000. Since then, Brugel's been involved in more than 60 shows, smaller and large. One of the most memorable was when she landed Rita's role in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of moments in the very first season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the sole Canadian participant.
